grants.

Once a year, Impact members gather at our Annual Award Celebration to award $100,000 grant(s) to local nonprofits. Since 2015, Impact has invested over $2 million.

grant committee.

The Grant Committee is charged with reviewing and scoring all of the grant applications received by Impact. Once members have individually reviewed and scored the proposals, the committee meets to narrow them down and vote on a list of finalists that will present to the entire Impact membership for the opportunity to receive an Impact grant.

Serving on the Grant Committee requires a time commitment, but is incredibly informative and rewarding. Members must be either paid in full for the year or current with their installment plan and available to score applications and attend most meetings. Click the calendar link above to review the timeline.

Missy Agnello, Linda Ladove and Laura  Szynal are chairs of the 2025-2026 Grant Committee.

If you would like to join the Grant Committee or have any questions about being a member, please contact Missy, Linda and Laura via email at impactpbgrants@outlook.com.

Grant Focus Areas

Impact the Palm Beaches has identified

the following five focus areas:

ARTS & CULTURE
Projects that cultivate, develop, educate, or enhance culture.

EDUCATION
Projects that further the ability to educate and improve education.

ENVIRONMENT & ANIMAL WELFARE
Projects that improve, enhance or restore the environment and promote conservation and protection of natural resources and the welfare of animals.

FAMILY
Projects that strengthen and enhance the lives of children and families living in our community.

HEALTH & WELLNESS

Impact the Palm Beaches requests each applicant to select ONE focus area under which the application is to be considered. The choice of focus area does not impact review of the application.

What Impact Does NOT Fund

  • Activities outside our 5 focus areas of Arts & Culture, Education, Environment & Animal Welfare, Family, and Health & Wellness

  • Programs that take place outside of our geographic area

  • Debt reduction or operational deficits

  • Fundraising campaigns or events

  • Capital campaigns *

  • Endowments or memorials

  • Bridge funding or interim financing

  • Partisan or political activities

  • Legal expenses

  • Travel expenses

  • Loans

  • Grants to individuals

  • Grants to private foundations

  • Religious organizations for religious purposes

* Capital Campaign:  A capital campaign is an organized drive to collect and accumulate SUBSTANTIAL funds to finance major needs of an organization such as a building or major repair or remodeling project. Capital campaigns are different than requests for capital grants to fund specific equipment, building costs, vehicles or materials that are clearly wrapped around a program or a project serving clients of the organization. Impact the Palm Beaches WILL permit grant requests for capital projects.

The Grant Process

Impact the Palm Beaches annually grants awards of $100,000 to local nonprofit agencies that meet our eligibility requirements to help them fund high-impact projects. The number of $100,000 grants awarded each year is determined by how many members have joined Impact. For each member, $1000 is pooled to create grants. For every 100 members, a $100,000 grant is awarded. For residual funds under $100,000, merit grants are awarded.

There is one grant cycle per year beginning around September and ending in April/May. Grants finalists are identified after detailed review and evaluation by the Grants Review Committee and selected for final award based on vote by the membership at our Annual Awards Celebration. In April 2025, we awarded $358,000 across six agencies.

Nonprofit agencies are encouraged to apply through a Letter of Intent (LOI) as long as the agency meets all the grant eligibility requirements. In the Letter of Intent, agencies will provide an overview of their program or project, community need, target population and success measurements along with a financial budget for the program or project. Grant Committee members review agency submissions and will vote on which Letter of Intent applications to advance to the next stage of the process.

We seek to fund programs that:

  • Reach underserved populations and address or satisfy unmet needs

  • Solve a problem or create an opportunity for strategic change

  • Create long term positive impact

  • Are well-defined, studied, and deliberate

  • Can demonstrate specific, measurable outcomes

  • Are sustainable well into the future

See grant timeline for the grants process and steps in 2025/2026.

Grant Process Steps

Step 1 - Letter of Intent

Applicants submit a Letter of Intent providing an overview of their program/project, community need, target population and success measurements along with a financial budget. Grant Committee members evaluate and vote to determine which applications move forward to the next step.

Step 2 - Request for Proposal

Applicants are notified whether they have been selected to submit a Request for Proposal providing additional details about the agency and proposed program/project. Grant Committee members evaluate and vote to determine which applications move forward to the next step.

Step 3 - Site Visits

For the selected applicants, Grant Committee members meet with agency leadership, tour facilities and resolve any remaining questions. Grant Committee members evaluate and vote to determine which applications move forward to the next step.

Step 4 - Final Decision

Finalists present their proposed project to all Impact members at the Annual Award Celebration and grant awards are determined by vote of the members.

Step 5 - Reporting

Grantees will be required to submit periodic reports to Impact the Palm Beaches on the progress of the relevant project or program.
