YWCA of Palm Beach County
Grant Amount: $100,000
Rapid Rehousing. Lasting Empowerment.
Thanks to a $100,000 grant from Impact the Palm Beaches, the YWCA of Palm Beach County is transforming the lives of families facing homelessness—many of them survivors of domestic violence—through its Rapid Re-Housing Program. The program provides not only safe, stable housing but also the tools for long-term independence.
Impact by the Numbers
To date, the program has served 68 households totaling 151 women and children—a 65% increase from the previous year. With Impact’s support, the YWCA delivered direct rental and utility assistance, moving families quickly into permanent homes. Impressively, 100% of participants have been housed, and 98% are projected to remain stably housed for at least 12 months, even amid a challenging rental market and federal funding delays.
Beyond Housing: Financial Stability & Empowerment
Each family works with an Economic Empowerment Advocate to strengthen budgeting, credit, and savings habits. Ninety-five percent of participants are actively improving financial literacy—opening bank accounts, establishing emergency funds, and repairing credit.
Human Impact
One mother, entering the program after significant instability, secured full-time employment, opened savings accounts, built an emergency fund, and now maintains permanent housing while pursuing continued education. Her story reflects what becomes possible when stability meets support.
Your Membership at Work
Impact’s grant served as a crucial match to federal HUD funds, enabling the YWCA to scale services, shorten shelter stays, and fortify the countywide housing safety net. Today, the program continues with strong sustainability through HUD, county partnerships, and ongoing fundraising—ensuring families don’t just find housing, but a path to lasting empowerment.
