Christina was born and raised in Dallas, moved to Connecticut and Massachusetts for school, and lived in Virginia and Alabama before moving to Florida four years ago. She currently lives in Jupiter, which is her husband’s hometown
Christina is a longtime supporter of the arts, and got back into drawing and painting last year through classes at Lighthouse ArtCenter. (Jeni Licata, Executive Director of Lighthouse ArtCenter is this month's featured artist!) Christina recently had a drawing receive 2nd place in their member show!
After pursuing degrees in archaeology and a career in national security, her passion project has been NextGenPatron, an initiative to get young people involved in volunteer leadership and help nonprofits cultivate the next generation of board leadership. In addition to speaking at professional conferences on the topic, she and her husband both advise organizations on strategic planning, succession planning, and fundraising.
Christina has served on the Impact Grants Committee for the last three years and she is the advisor for Impact Next-Gen, a teen giving circle. Her daughter Tessa is also a Next-Gen member (see our NextGen Chapter update below!). She is very involved in the Yale alumni community, overseeing alumni admissions interviews in Palm Beach and Broward counties, serving on the board of the Yale Club of the Palm Beaches, and working as a mentor for nonprofit organizations through the Yale Alumni Nonprofit Alliance.
Christina was introduced to Impact by Lisa Huertas from the Yale board. She was new to Jupiter and eager to get involved in the community, and Lisa said that Impact was the best way to learn about local organizations. When she met Lisa LaFrance at the monthly Jupiter Beach Coffee her enthusiasm for Impact made it an easy decision to join.
