Impact the Palm Beaches Celebrating 10 Years at Canopy

The 10th anniversary kickoff celebration for Impact the Palm Beaches is set for Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 5:30 p.m. at Canopy by Hilton West Palm Beach Downtown.

Florida Power & Light is again the presenting sponsor.

More than 200 people are expected to attend the event, which launches “10 Years of Impact: Empowering Women, Transforming Futures.” They can socialize and enjoy cocktails while learning about Impact the Palm Beaches and its plans for its 10th-anniversary season.

Since its inception in 2015, Impact the Palm Beaches has awarded nearly $2 million to local nonprofit organizations.

“As we launch our 10th year, Impact the Palm Beaches remains dedicated to collaborating with local organizations to create a significant and lasting impact on the communities they serve,” said Lisa Johnson, co-president of Impact the Palm Beaches for 2024-2025.

The organization aims to reach 500 members this year.

“With our expanding membership, we can extend our support to more organizations and initiatives, broadening our efforts to uplift communities,” Johnson said. “We are grateful for FPL’s continued support as the presenting sponsor this year. Our partnership with FPL is based on our shared commitment to enhancing our community.”

This spring, three local nonprofits each received $100,000 grants: the American Association of Caregiving Youth (Caregiving Youth Project), Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies (Basics4Babies Emergency Pantry), and The Lord’s Place (Project Divert: A Homeless Shelter Diversion Pilot Initiative). Additionally, $48,000 merit grants were awarded to Busch Wildlife Sanctuary (for the rehabilitation flight cages for large birds) and Take Stock in Children Palm Beach County (for program expansion in central and northern Palm Beach County).

The 2025 Impact grants will be presented at the annual awards celebration April 30.

Impact 100 is a global organization with over 60 chapters. Its motto, “One Woman, One Meeting, One Vote,” focuses on women seeking a collaborative approach to drive transformative change in their community.

Members of Impact contribute $1,000 annually and award at least one $100,000 Impact grant to a local nonprofit organization, preferring a substantial grant to one organization rather than multiple smaller donations. Impact grants support arts and culture, education, the environment and animal welfare, health and wellness, and family.

The Town of Palm Beach United Way serves as the fiscal agent for Impact the Palm Beaches.
